On inspection they find the motor has issues too and need to be replaced. It takes their young tech 2 weeks to swap out this motor. Designed by Porsche to be easily replaced and serviced. Now needing to replace another part. A month!! They blamed it on the battery. It has to be a joke. I contacted service rep Chris Gibson and was told to bring the car back in to repair those issues. Thought the dealership was the correct place to go I was wrong. Repairs were incorrect and incomplete. Absolutely zero attention to detail as I still have damage. Given back to me filthy.. Poor communication during the process and when I picked it up. Learn from my mistake. Don't believe the 5 star hype. Incompetent service staff - jn. I have taken my Porsche Cayenne to the service twice so far and found the staff does not know how to fix problems or properly work with insurance. The first encounter was to have my new car only a week old connected to the iPhone.
The service person Doug Nike took the car and spent about an hour trying to make the connection work without success. Doug brought out my car and showed how he could not get the code to work and had no further suggestions. I give Doug some credit for being open and honest about his attempts. I took the car home, contacted the online service for the connection and they walked me through a successful connection. What had happened is the process for making the connection had changed and the service department did not know the new process for the models.
At that same time, I had also requested Doug to check on an upgrade that I would like to have made to my car, he took my VIN and contact information, he even used his cell for to photograph the VIN and my contact info. After three months no response! My second trip to service Cayenne is for a windshield replacement. After trying to contacting the service department the previous day no one was available to take my call so I tried the chat button on the website. The person on the other end text to bring in the car the next day.
Upon arrival the following day, the staff was confused and did not have any record of my chat and unfortunately, I could not locate the chat on my phone to show them. But why would I even have to prove I chatted with them! So after going over my service request, the staff person calculated a charge. I kind of knew that I would need to work with insurance but part of me was hoping to have the part under warranty. Now I know this would take working with my insurance to complete, but it what was most bothersome was the attitude of the service people.
They seemed more intent on charging money then they were getting a new car that I purchased from them fixed. I am very glad there are many Porsche Dealerships in the area and all I can say, for now, is that Carlsen Porsche will be the last dealership on my list to use. What a difference new owners make! I had previously been unsatisfied with Porsche SD service department and swore to never go back. Fortunately, I was in a situation where I had no choice but to use their service department.
What a difference! They have apparently been bought out by a company that has very high standards as I would expect for a high end dealership. I was able to meet Garrett, the technician that worked on my car. He was polite and knowledgeable. The car was fixed right the first time and now I won't let anyone other than Garrett work on my car.

After researching and sending him documented and photographic proof that it was THEIR error, or HIS error, he responded that he would send me a return label Which he never did.
He's stopped responding to my email. It's just a horrible business with a terrible employee. You would think being a Porsche dealer, they would not treat customers so poorly. Think twice before you do business with Rector Motors and their affiliates. They kept my car for 3 months for a repair that should have taken 3 weeks. They blame my insurance company or the Mercedes dealership for the delays.
